Love the Mountains

How blessed we were to be able to take a vacation this past month. We headed for Roan Mountain, TN which is on the border of North Carolina. It is a beautiful place. It never ceases to amaze me when I see the beauty of God's creation. While hiking I love to just stop and look around and take it all in! We actually went several places. They included:

• Carolina Hemlocks on Hwy 80, NC
• Spruce Pine, NC
• Toms Creeks Falls
• Bakersville, NC
• Roan Mountain, TN
• Carvers Gap in Roan Mountain
• The Rhododendron Gardens in Roan Mountain
• Roan Bluff in Roan Mountain
• Roan Mountain State Park
• Blue Hole Falls
• Wautauga Lake
• Backroads of NC and TN

What a wonderful relaxing time! However, we did have to leave the beauty of the mountains and travel to Atlanta, GA for my brother's 60th birthday party! That is so hard to believe. Life really is a vapor. How important to redeem the time and walk circumspectly not as fools, but as wise. (Eph 5:15-16)
The party went well and it was good to see my brother and his family as well as visit my husband's mother who also lives in the Atlanta area.
So glad to arrive home safely and sleep in my own bed! There's is no place like home sweet home.
